UP Open University Tuition: How This Estimate Is Calculated
Unlike UP's other constituent universities, UPOU doesn't use the Socialized Tuition System's discount brackets — as a distance learning institution, it charges one uniform rate to everyone.
One Rate for All Levels
UPOU charges ₱1,000 per unit across all program levels, from undergraduate through doctorate, plus a flat ₱2,000 per term in miscellaneous fees. RA 10931 free tuition still applies to qualifying Filipino undergraduates — see the UP Diliman page for the general RA 10931 explanation.
Not Modeled: Per-Course Materials Fee
UPOU also charges a ₱100 instructional-materials fee per course, not modeled here since it's charged per course rather than as a flat per-semester amount — your real total will run a little higher than this estimate once that's added.
